I was using older firmware, so this is X32 Edit 2.5. I’ve made a video to make it a bit clearer. We aren’t using P16 (which is Behringer’s proprietary ethernet-based monitoring system,) instead, we’re going to re-route P16 1-16 to Card Out 17-32.

For Direct Outs 17-32, route them to P16. You can route the first 16 Card Outputs from Direct Outs 1-16. In order to route all 32 inputs (which are coming over Dante) to 32 outputs, also over Dante, we have to route in a circle. X32 gives you delay and EQ (and dynamics/compressor) per channel. This means you don’t have to rote your signals to an FX bus for basic EQing. On the X32 Rack and console, these 16 outputs are physical XLRs, on the Core they are virtual outputs, which can be routed to “card” (Dante,) or AES or Ultranet (P16.) The real problem is that the X32 only has 16 “outputs” in the routing tab. With the X-DANTE card (for $500) you get 32 channels of Dante in and out, just like with other X32 products.
#BEHRINGER X32 DANTE SERIES#
The X-DANTE card allows the X32 series of digital mixers to share up to 32 x 32 channels of audio with any network of Dante-enabled devices via single or redundant Ethernet connection. The disadvantage (in some cases) is that there are no analog outputs. Introduction Dante is a high-performance digital media protocol designed to deliver audio over a standard Ethernet IP network. It’s in the X32 family, so you get all the features of the X32 console or X32 Rack, but with the advantage of it being 1 RU, and only $600. There’s no way to EQ or delay on the multitrack audio server we’re using, so we need something else.īehringer recently came out with the X32 Core. Each track needs a different amount of delay and EQ, since the speakers are spread across a large area with lots of audio reflections. Using dvs, studioone and an ipad I could remote control my mixer and monitor all channels seperatly on my computer.Right now I’m working on a project that plays back 32 tracks of audio over 32 discrete speakers. Since dante is sample accurate you can take one 32.4.2ai and one x32 both with dante and record all 64 channels in sample sync! How cool isn't that?! Connect a single 300ft ethernet cable if you need to be that far away or just add a switch or two to extend the length even more! No need to be within firewire/usb cable length from the mixer anymore.

The option of recording up to 64 channels on a single computer using dvs or even using multiple computers for redundancy. Yeah, I recently fell in love with it about six months ago. The possibilities are interesting and I can see why everyone is looking forward to it. Rpark wrote:I just went off to the Audinate site and did some reading on it.

This is why I'm interested in knowing if dante enabled speakers is my next thing or if I should stay analog.īehringer x32 with Dante, x32-rack, s16 stagebox, p16 monitor system, StudioLive 24, FirePod 10, Alesis HD24, M-Audio FastTrack Pro, Studio One Pro v2, NI Komplete 5-8 Ultimate, Cubase 4, Ableton Live 8 Suite, Reaper 4, misc Line6 gear/software, True Temperament Frets on basses and guitars, Korg Kronos, Roland vk-7, Yamaha 02r. So far I've not seen any such dante card below $500 so unless presonus discounts the card heavily the cost to enable dante for four speakers could end up somewhere around $2000 + the dante card for the mixer. The 32-channel 48 kHz bi-directional audio interface brings even more I/O options to the X32 by making it ready for. The X-DANTE Expansion Card can easily be installed in place of the X-USB card that is included with the X32. The audinate brooklyn-ii card seems to cost approx $200 from audinate and you need to add the cost for the customized pcb with components in addition to that. Audinate Dante Expansion Card for X32 Mixer Accessories X-DANTE The X32s’ expansion slot provides fl exible and expandable connectivity for many diff erent applications. The reason I'm asking about if there need to be one dante card for each speaker is that there is a chance that presonus can create their own audio streams using their own protocol so that one dante card may connect to the rest of the ethernet enabled speakers, acting as a bridge. The dante chipset (brooklyn-ii) that most likely will be in the dante option is (or soon will be) avb-compliant so there will not likley be a separate avb-card.
